Kameel Remote for the WGC Infinity November 55mm challenge. Primary colors were done with the airbrush and detail work with the brush. Variety of colors from Vallejo and GW. Base was built with plasticard, electrical wiring, and scrap laser cut MDF.

I've haven't been at the painting desk for some time now. September was rather busy with the start of Fall semester and a office move. This paint job is a commission piece for a friend and I used some of the techniques I learned while at Gen Con. Base is from Secret Weapon Miniatures.

Gen Con next week

Hello again folks,
This has been a busy summer for me with school and starting my own business. Next week is Gen Con Indy and I will be there once again filming interviews and having a fun of a time. This year I will be going on the trip with some of the painters of the Geek Garage. You'll be able to see the videos I will be making over at Beasts of War and also my own personal channel.

Time to get back to finishing out this business class before my trip.

Road to GenCon

Relic Knights: Black Diamond unboxing.

HappyPanda made a visit to the GG paint night and happened to bring along with him his Kickstarter reward for Relic Knights. With him he brought the Black Diamond retail starter set, One Shot, M8-Blitz tank, Diamond Corps, and the Iron Chef.

Unboxing June releases from Privateer Press

This month we see some new character solos for Hordes and a new warcaster for Cryx. These new sculpts are highly detailed and very crisp. 

First up we have Una the Falconer for Circle Orboros.

Second we have Horgle Ironstrike for Trollblood. 

Third is Tyrant Zaadesh for Skorne

Fourth Fyanna the Lash for Legion of Everblight. 

Lastly there is Goreshade "The Bastard" with Deathwalker

Secret Weapon trench base

Recently I picked up a Bag o' Crap from Secret Weapon Miniatures and was blown away by the amount of resin I received. So the first thing I did was toss everything into the sink with some dish soap. Since I was already washing resin I decided to gather up all the other pieces I had and got them in the bath.

Once the bases were dried I sorted them all out and my painting bug took over. This trench base is for the Khador Conquest project that I have yet to start. No time like the present to get this lovely base all painted up and will give motivation to start on the next part of the project.

I use spray primer on my resin projects as it has a better bite than the acrylic stuff I use in my airbrush.

Here is the final product. I used pigment powders to give some of the areas a dusty effect. The mud was glossed with floor polish.

Kingdom Death: Pinups (assembled)

Finally got around to assembling these 8 ladies from Kingdom Death. First impression while working with the plastic is that it cleans very well. Mold lines weren't in too hard to reach places and were easily buffed away with fine grit sandpaper. All the pieces went together very well thanks to the sockets and plugs. Be forewarned that there are no assembly instructions so you'll have to look off the reference photos like I did. Some of these ladies have extra heads/pieces so you can model them in different ways. If you're lucky enough to get your hands on this set I highly recommend it for your collection.

Atomic Salt live show episode #1

Here is a side project I've been working on with a friend. We discuss all thing hobby related in a live news show. Give it a watch and let us know what you think and tune in weekly as we'll most surely get better from here on out.

Infinity: Haqqislam Sekban with HRL

Finished up this Sekban just in time for a contest being run over at the Mayacast Podcast. Also picked up the new 4 man box of these guys so there will be more to come. 

Kingdom Death: Pinups of Death unboxing (photo heavy)

This lovely little box of minis made its way to my hobby desk via one of my long time commissioners. Before I get to the task of clipping and assembly, I thought I'd show you all the fine level of detail you can expect from the Kingdom Death company. 

 This kit has 8 different sculpts with a few having some variety. Everything is highly sculpted down to the littlest detail. Hands and toes look lifelike compared to other company sculpts.

 These are part of the boutique line from Kingdom Death and have some very fragile pieces. Not something you'd want to see used on the table at your local gaming night.

Lylyth, Shadow of Everblight

Finally finished Lylyth over the weekend. This is a bit of a resculpt. You can compare against the original below to see if you can spot the change. Base is miliput stones stamped with a textured piece of silicone. The snow is a mix of salt and baking soda.
