Weekend paint night aftermath.

So this week has been crazy with trying to get back in normal routine. My place is still a mess from unpacking but luckily I was able to get away and get some paint on the brush with some friends. Paint nights are always a bit wild with odd conversations but this group is great at helping to push each other's talent.

Worked on my Kovnik and added some battle damage to the shield.
Close to finishing the Clockwork Angels. Metalics and glow are all done. Just need to paint the cloth and make the basing. These will be going out in the mail soon for Clash for the Cure event.
A while back our group did a mini swap. GoGo Marlene here was painted by the master Mr Salmond. I'm more than impressed by the work he did and I hope to gleam some insight from his technique.
GoGo gets her own spot in my display case. Now I have a painted miniature from the three guys who have inspired me the most.

San Diego Comic Con (Day 3 photos)

Here are the Saturday photos. By this time I was in a nerd overload and the exhaustion was kicking in.
All the loot I got is also at the end of this post.

San Diego Comic Con (Day 2 photos)

Here are the photos from my second day at comic con. I wish there was a way to show off more of what it was like but the size and scope of the dealer room was immense.

As mentioned last week I went to Comic Con for the first time. Here are the photos I took for day 1.

This will be a rather long posting of photos.

Con Break #1

I'll be breaking my regular schedule of hobby posts this week. The reason being that I will be out of town this week to attend the San Diego Comic Con. Be sure to check back next week as I'll be uploading a ton of photos from my trip.

Cheers,
Wildchevy

Massive Voodoo Figure Art (unboxing)

I finally received my reward for backing Massive Voodoo's Indiegogo campaign. MV is one of the blogs that I found when I first started mini painting and have been an inspiration to me all this time. When they announced that they would produce a book I was all to thrilled to hop on board.

So here is a little unboxing of the goods.

Upon opening the package we see two books and a little envelope.

Iron Fang Kovnik (wip)

Here is the progress on my Khador Iron Fang Kovnik. At this moment it is completely playable as a game piece but I want to take it one step farther. I will be adding mud effects to the base and lower body areas. Might also add some battle damage to the shield.

Also trying to work on my light box photography.

Interview with Geek Garage

I was lucky enough to get some time to chat with the guys over at the Geek Garage and discuss what their hobby project plans are for the future. This was after a long day of gaming so some of them are loopy and for some that is how they act normally. I'll leave that for you to figure out.

If you haven't already, head on over to their site and join the forums.

Geek Garage day of gaming

This past weekend I hung out with some of the folks from Geek Garage for a day of gaming and painting (painting was planned but sadly didn't happen). Started the fun in the morning and finished late in the night.

First game we played was a 2v2 game of Infinity. Each side had a newbie player and there was mass carnage.
